Heads up, Eheads fans!
A documentary film about the legendary band is set to have a theatrical release for one weekend only, from March 21 to 23.
Titled “Combo On The Run,” the movie is directed by Diane Ventura, and is poised to delve deep into the heart and soul of one of the country’s most successful OPM bands of all time.
Aside from Eraserheads’s rise to the top, the film will also show the untold story of their painful breakup and the challenges it took to get back on stage for their historic reunion concert, “Ang Huling El Bimbo” in 2022, which drew in an estimated crowd of more than 60,000 fans.
“Notorious for their guarded aloofness, I’m incredibly lucky and grateful to have witnessed these men allowing themselves to open up in ways people have never seen them,” Ventura said in a press release.
“Their candidness and forthright honesty were a gift. It wasn’t just cathartic for them; it was transformative for me as a filmmaker and audience member,” she added.
Composed of Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, and Marcus Adoro, The Eraserheads is the band behind songs “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” “With A Smile,” and “Ligaya,” among others.
Following the Philippine concert in 2022, the band took the reunion show to the US, Canada and the Middle East.
