According to PTI, more than 100 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport on Sunday due to adverse weather conditions. An official said there have been no flight diversions or cancellations so far. Low visibility conditions due to dense fog have been impacting.
Flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport were delayed due to poor visibility caused by dense fog. While flights equipped with CAT III technology continued to operate, non-compliant flights faced disruptions.
An advisory from the airport posted on X stated, “While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”
Update issued at 06:55 hours.

The air quality in the national capital remained in the ‘very poor’ category, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 377 at 6 am, a slight improvement from 385 at the same time the previous day.
The ‘very poor’ category indicates potential respiratory health risks on prolonged exposure. The AQI scale classifies readings between 301 and 400 as ‘very poor,’ while readings between 401 and 500 are deemed ‘severe.’
As the cold wave persisted, many homeless individuals turned to night shelters for refuge. The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) set up 235 pagoda tents at various locations, including AIIMS, Lodhi Road, and Nizamuddin flyover, to accommodate the homeless population. Bonfires were also lit across several areas to provide warmth during the chilly nights.
