The meeting, scheduled to take place under the guidance of Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, will involve officials from countries including the US, UK, China, South Korea, Russia, Australia, France, Japan, Indonesia, and Singapore, among others.
The discussions will revolve around boosting exports in six critical sectors, including engineering goods and electronics. The government is formulating a comprehensive strategy to promote exports in these six product categories. Key focus areas include improving logistics, advancing market access initiatives, addressing World Trade Organization (WTO)-related issues, and eliminating non-tariff barriers that have long hindered the flow of Indian exports.
The commerce minister earlier said that the country’s exports in the current fiscal year are poised to surpass $800 billion. In the preceding year, India recorded a total of $778 billion in exports.
