Delhi Police issues traffic advisory due to PM Modi visit on Sunday

The Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for the eastern parts of the city, effective until 1 pm on Sunday, January 5, in light of the visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the 13-kilometre stretch of the Namo Bharat corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar, which is a key part of the ongoing infrastructure projects in Delhi.

Traffic restrictions due to the Prime Minister’s visit

The inauguration of the Namo Bharat corridor, which is expected to take place around 11 am, will lead to heavy traffic in certain areas.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience, the following roads will experience traffic restrictions:

  • National Highway 9 (Sarai Kale Khan to UP Gate – both carriageways)
  • National Highway 24 (Sarai Kale Khan to UP Gate – both carriageways)
  • Ghazipur Road (Kondli to Noida Link Road)
  • New Ashok Nagar Metro Station Road (Sarpanch Chowk to Holiday Inn red light)
  • Ghazipur Nala Road (Kondli to New Ashok Nagar Metro Station)
  • Chilla Border to New Ashok Nagar Metro Station
  • Noida Link Road (Chilla Border to Akshardham Temple)

The police have advised commuters travelling along these routes between 7 am and 1 pm to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time due to possible delays.
