Daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, Deepika was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and raised in Bengaluru. Like her father, she pursued sports as her career as a teenager and played in national-level championships as well. However, she later shifted her focus to becoming a fashion model, making her debut in 2006 with the Kannada film Aishwarya.
Deepika made her grand entry into Bollywood with the 2007 film Om Shanti Om alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Since then, the actor has not looked back and appeared in highly popular projects like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal, Housefull, Desi Boyz, Cocktail’ Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Piku, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Pathaan and Jawan.
Last year, Deepika appeared in three films — ‘Fighter, Kalki 2898 and Singham Again.
On the personal front, Deepika has been married to her Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat co-star Ranveer Singh since 2018. The couple welcomed their first child — Dua – in September last year.

Being one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone’s total net worth stands at a staggering ₹500 crore. She earns anywhere around ₹15-30 crore for a film role, according to several media reports.
Deepika paid ₹10 crore in taxes during the fiscal year 2016-2017. Besides this, she earns from brand endorsements too. Some of them include Louis Vuitton, Levi’s, Jio, Tissot, Pepsi, Adidas, Axis Bank, Oppo, Vistara and Chopard.
She is also the proud owner of 82°E, which she launched along with Jigar Shah in November 2022.
Deepika bought a luxury house in Prabhadevi for around ₹16 crore in 2013. She and Ranveer Singh have reportedly spent ₹119 crore for their dream home in Bandra, which is an 11,266 sq ft quadruplex which is located next to Shah Rukh’s home, Mannat.

Upcoming projects
Deepika was last seen on screen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which was released on November 1 last year. The actor is said to be on a break from films to look after her recently born daughter.
