Bumrah felt some discomfort during the second day’s play and was forced to leave the ground early the post-Lunch session. He then left for a neighboring hospital for a scan after which he rejoined the team at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
In his post-day press conference Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna said that Bumrah had a back spasm and the team’s medical staff will provide the rest of the players with a timely update.
According to a Times of India report there is nothing “serious” with Bumrah. He should be okay to bat if need be however if he is fit enough to bowl will be decided before the start of action of day three.
Bumrah is the most successful bowler of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series. He has picked 32 wickets to his name. He led India in the series opener in Perth which the visitors won by a thumping margin of 295 runs. The responsibility of leading India fell of Bumrah’s shoulder for a second time in this tour, when out of form Rohit Sharma decided to drop himself for the ongoing Test.
