Bumrah, who went under scan had replaced the rested Rohit Sharma as captain for this test, could be seen on the television broadcast leaving in a car from underneath the SCG grandstands about an hour after the lunch break on Saturday.
India team management has not confirmed the injury or whether Bumrah, the standout player of the series, will be able to bowl again in the match. The 31-year-old has an overall series tally of 32 wickets, which is the highest by an Indian bowler in a single series in Australia. Bumrah passed spinner Bishan Singh Bedi who had 31 wickets from five matches during the 1977-78 series.
