Vodafone Idea launches new annual prepaid plans with unlimited night data and OTT bundles

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has unveiled new annual prepaid recharge plans aimed at enhancing value for its users. These plans offer unlimited data from midnight till noon, along with additional benefits, to attract a larger customer base.

The three new plans, priced at ₹3,599, ₹3,699, and ₹3,799, provide unlimited data usage between 12 AM and 12 PM daily for the entire year. This unlimited night data is offered in addition to the high-speed daily data limit of 2GB for the remaining 12 hours.

Exclusive features of Vi SuperHero Prepaid Packs:

Unlimited Data: Half-day unlimited data (12 AM to 12 PM) every day.

Daily Data Quota: 2 GB of high-speed data for the remaining hours (12 PM to 12 AM).

Weekend Data Rollover: Users can carry forward unused weekday data and utilise it during the weekend.

OTT Benefits: The ₹3,699 plan comes with a 1-year Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription, while the ₹3,799 plan includes a 1-year Amazon Prime Lite subscription.

Currently, these plans are available in key circles, including Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab, and Haryana.

While Vi continues to operate on its 4G network nationwide, its competitors, Jio and Bharti Airtel have already rolled out unlimited 5G data plans for their customers. Vi’s latest move aims to bridge this gap by offering competitive data benefits and attractive OTT add-ons, positioning itself as a value-driven choice for users.

With these new “SuperHero” plans, Vodafone Idea is seeking to boost its subscriber base and strengthen its market presence amidst ongoing financial challenges.

VI sees a decline in the subscriber base

Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea saw a loss of 19.77 lakh users, up from a loss of 15.5 lakh users in September 2024, with the telco’s market share at 18.30%, as per an update released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on December 23. Reliance Jio is the market leader with a market share of 39.9%, whereas Bharti Airtel is in the second spot with a 33.5% share.
