Mumbai recorded the lowest participation at 49.07%, while Gadchiroli saw the highest turnout at 69.63%.
By 1 pm, the Gadchiroli district recorded a turnout of 50.89%, while the Armori assembly segment reported 51.05%. Aheri district recorded a voter turnout of 52.84%. In the Mumbai suburban region, voter turnout stood at 30.43%, with the suburb of Bhandup registering 38.75%, Dahisar 35.60% and Bandra East 25.03%.
Mumbai City reported a turnout of 27.73%. Colaba recorded 24.16% voter participation, while Mahim and Worli registered 33.01% and 26.96% respectively. Kopri-Pachpakhadi in Thane, CM Eknath Shinde’s constituency, saw a turnout of 32.21%.
Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis ‘s Nagpur South-West constituency saw a voter turnout was 31.12% till 1 pm, while Pune’s Baramati recorded a 33.78% turnout.
Polling commenced on Wednesday with the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti alliance seeking to retain power and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) aiming for a significant comeback.
Voting began at 7 am across all 288 assembly constituencies and will continue until 6 pm. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 23. More than 9.7 crore voters are eligible to cast their ballots, selecting from 4,136 candidates contesting the elections.
