In December 2024, the company reported total sales of 3,24,906 units, a decline of 17.5% compared to the same month last year. Domestic sales stood at 2,94,152 units, down 22% from 3,77,842 units a year ago, while exports increased sharply by 91% year-on-year to 30,754 units.
Motorcycle sales in December fell 15.8% year-on-year to 2,98,516 units, and scooter sales declined 32.8% to 26,390 units. For the April-December period, total sales rose 6.8% to 4.52 million units, compared to 4.23 million units in the corresponding period last year.
Hero MotoCorp reported a 49% growth in global business sales during 2024 and introduced eight new models globally, designed to cater to region-specific customer needs.
In the EV segment, the company sold over 46,662 units of its VIDA V1 e-scooters in 2024, reflecting growing traction in the sustainable mobility market.
Looking ahead, Hero MotoCorp plans to expand its EV portfolio, strengthen its premium motorcycle range, and introduce new scooter models in the internal combustion engine (ICE) segment.
Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp, described 2024 as a “landmark year” for the company.
“Growth across multiple segments—from our core offerings, the 125cc motorcycle category, and our evolving electric mobility portfolio—has reinforced Hero’s position as the preferred brand for millions of customers across the country,” Gupta said.
Looking ahead to 2025, Gupta expressed optimism about the company’s trajectory. “We are poised for an exciting journey with key product launches, including the expansion of our EV portfolio, further strengthening of our premium motorcycle range, and new scooter models in the internal combustion engine (ICE) segment,” he said.
He further added that improving customer sentiment could lead to even stronger demand recovery for Hero MotoCorp and the two-wheeler industry as a whole.
On the stock price performance front, Hero MotoCorp’s shares rose over 3% to settle at ₹4,310.55, with an intra-day high of ₹4,322.40. Over the last year, the stock has delivered a return of more than 5%, although it has corrected by 22.5% in the last six months.
