Xiaomi India appoints Sandeep Singh Arora as Chief Business Officer

Xiaomi, on Thursday, announced the appointment of Sandeep Singh Arora as its Chief Business Officer (CBO) in India. This move comes after Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B stepped down in November last year to pursue further studies.

According to the company, Arora will spearhead business development initiatives to drive revenue growth, establish new strategic partnerships, and enhance Xiaomi’s market presence across India.

The company has high hopes for Arora’s leadership, with expectations that his extensive experience in product marketing, category management, retail operations, and brand strategy will be pivotal in navigating the dynamic Indian market.

“We are excited to welcome Sandeep to the Xiaomi India team as we kick off a transformative year,” said Xiaomi in a statement. “His leadership will be instrumental in helping us accelerate growth, innovate, and deliver on our mission of making cutting-edge technology accessible to every Indian.”

Arora brings over 30 years of experience managing and growing consumer brands. His most recent role was with Samsung India, where he served as the Head of the Online Business Unit and later as Head of Marketing Communications in the Consumer Electronics division. Before that, he held senior positions with PepsiCo India, Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd (The Times of India Group), and Unilever.

With a postgraduate diploma in business management and marketing from IIM Ahmedabad, Arora is well-equipped to lead Xiaomi India’s business strategy, the company said, adding that it expects his expertise to guide its expansion in India’s competitive tech market.

“I am thrilled to join Xiaomi India at such an exciting time,” said Arora. “Xiaomi’s commitment to making innovative technology accessible to all resonates deeply with my own values. We will focus on delivering exceptional products to meet the aspirations of Indian consumers. I look forward to contributing to Xiaomi’s growth and success in India.”
