Aegis has appealed to the public to respect its late vocalist, Mercy Sunot, and her family amid the disinformation circulating about the late vocalist following her death.
In a post on their official Facebook page on Wednesday, the OPM band asked the public not to believe the false information that Mercy had vices.
The group also refuted the false information that Mercy’s sister and fellow bandmate, Juliet, gave an interview that disparaged the late vocalist.
Aegis has called on the public to consider the grave effects of fake news to the dignity of the departed and to be more responsible in sharing information. It also asked for understanding amid this time of grief.
Maraming salamat po sa inyong pang-unawa,” the band said.
Mercy passed away due to cancer early this week.
Over the weekend, Mercy took to social media to ask for prayers after she underwent lung surgery.
Aegis is best known for their hits “Sinta,” “Luha,” “Basang-basa sa Ulan,” and more.
