Radio DJs Papa Dudut and Papa Obet are “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’s” first guests for 2025!
On Wednesday’s episode, the two talked about the Top 5 love problems their listeners usually consult with them for advice.
1. How to move on?
According to Papa Dudut, who also does the voiceovers in “Family Feud,” the first love problem often asked by listeners is about moving on.
In response, they would tell them to just enjoy themselves and do things that would make them happy.
“Lumabas ka with your friends. ‘Yung mga hindi mo nakakausap before na mga kaibigan mong tinalikuran mo dati at ‘yung mga pamilya na hindi mo sinamahan sa date, ngayon mo gawin ‘yan,” Papa Obet said.
They also recommend redecorating and rearranging their room’s setup.
“Sa ‘kin, Tito Boy, ang sinasabi ko lang, ‘Tandaan mo ‘yung mga bagay na nagpasakit sa ‘yo habang kasama mo siya. That’s the reason kung bakit kailangan mo nang mag-move on,” Papa Dudut said.
2. Left for someone else
A common love problem their listeners also encounter is experiencing the pain of being left for someone else.
“Hayaan mo na. Hayaan mo sila. Hanap ka ng iba,” is what Papa Obet would tell them.
“Hanapin mo lang ‘yung reason bakit ka pinagpalit. Baka magawan natin ng paraan para sa susunod na love story mo,” Papa Dudut said.
3. Should I continue our relationship?
Some listeners have also asked them if they think they should continue on with their relationship, citing reasons like they’re already running out of money.
“Well, kung ikaw ay willing na maging ATM forever, ituloy mo. Kasi nag-e-enjoy ka eh. Choice mo. Pero kung hindi mo na kayang i-sustain, hindi naman masamang bitawan ‘yung nagiging pabigat sa ‘yo,” Papa Dudut said.
4. Disliked by partner’s parents
The fourth love problem listeners encounter is being disliked by their partner’s parents.
However, Papa Dudut thinks that they should not view it as a problem but rather an advantage.
“Kasi mag-e-effort ka na ipakilala, i-present mo ‘yung sarili mo kung anong klaseng tao ka at gaano mo kamahal ‘yung babae, ‘di ba?” he said.
Papa Obet agreed, adding that it’s also important to find out why the parents were not in favor of you.
“Baka naman kasi, mamaya, kaayaw-ayaw ka talaga. Ikaw ‘yung tipo na wala kang trabaho, hindi ka nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral, bulakbol ka, or tambay ka,” he said. “So ayusin mo ‘yung sarili mo para magustuhan ka ng mga magulang.”
5. Secret relationship
And finally, their listeners also feel bothered by their secret relationships.
“Kapag tinatago ka ng karelasyon mo eh red flag ‘yon. Maghanap ka ng dahilan kung bakit ka tinatago,” Papa Dudut said.
He recommends looking into the partner’s Facebook account and if their account name does match their IDs.
“Kaya ka natatago, kasi magaling siyang magtago. Kahit sa Facebook, iba-iba ‘yung pangalan niya,” he said.
Papa Obet added, “Kilalanin mong mabuti ‘yung tao kung baka mamaya, hindi mo pa lubusang kilala ‘yung tao kasi kaya ka niya itinatago. Alamin mo ‘yung dahilan niya kung bakit and ‘yung pinakamaganda, tanungin mo siya straight to the point.”
