DDA launches special housing schemes with 25 percent discount for workers, women, and other disadvantaged groups

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, has announced multiple housing schemes aimed at supporting disadvantaged sections of society, including construction workers, women, ex-servicemen, and auto-rickshaw and cab drivers. The announcement was made following a high-level meeting on Monday, December 30, 2024.

Here are the key highlights of the new DDA housing schemes:

1. Special 25% discount on flats

The DDA has approved a 25% discount on flats located in Narela, Siraspur, and Loknayak Puram under its Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme 2024 and Madhyam Vargiya Housing Scheme 2024.

The eligible beneficiaries include:

–Construction and building workers registered with the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (DBOCWWB)

–Beneficiaries of the PM-Vishwakarma Scheme and PM-SVAnidhi Scheme

–Auto-rickshaw (permit holders) and cab drivers

–Women, SC/ST candidates, war widows, persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen, and gallantry award recipients

2. Details of flats under the discount scheme

Narela (Sector G2): Approximately 700 EWS flats are available with a 25% discount.

Siraspur (LIG) and Loknayak Puram (LIG): 25% of flats will be reserved for eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Loknayak Puram (MIG): 10% of flats will also be offered under the scheme.

Deadline: The scheme is open until March 31, 2025.

3. DDA Special Housing Scheme 2025

The authority has also approved the launch of the DDA Special Housing Scheme 2025, which will feature 110 flats in prime locations such as Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Rohini, Ashoka Pahari, and Jahangirpuri.

Flat Categories: 7 HIG, 58 MIG, and 45 LIG flats

–Sale Process: Flats in Vasant Kunj will be offered through an e-auction, while others will follow a first-come, first-served basis.

4. Infrastructure development approvals

Land Use Change: The authority approved converting 4.63 hectares of railway land in Shakurbasti from transportation to residential use.

Fuel Stations: Modifications have been approved for setting up fuel stations on privately owned land in Delhi.

EWS Unit Disposal Policy: Updated guidelines for disposing of EWS units developed by private entities have been approved.

These new schemes and approvals aim to enhance affordable housing options and improve urban infrastructure in the national capital, benefitting thousands of residents.
