Loomer’s Controversial Comments
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Loomer described Krishnan’s appointment as “deeply disturbing” and referred to Indian immigrants as “third-world invaders.”
Our country was built by white Europeans, actually. Not third world invaders from India. @Cloudwatch199
You know, it was white Europeans who created the American Dream, and we didn’t create it so that it could be exploited by pro open border techies like you.PS: why are… https://t.co/as4swH3PXz

She followed this post by doubling down on her rhetoric and uploaded similar posts on X.
It’s true though. It’s not racist. People are still pooping and bathing in the water they drink.
This is well known. How is that racist? That’s why it’s called the THIRD WORLD.
How is it racist? This image wasn’t generated by Grok. It’s real.

This is the result of the wonderful “high skilled” labor that our Silicon Valley overlords have been importing for decades.
We get cancelled flights, dysfunctional digital infrastructure, and, perhaps worst of all, iOS 18—just so that they can save a few bucks by importing… https://t.co/J4NbNlvTpc— Laura Loomer (@LauraLoomer) December 24, 2024

Her remarks have drawn widespread condemnation, including from Elon Musk and other prominent figures within conservative and tech circles.
Entrepreneur David Sacks, recently named Trump’s AI czar, defended Krishnan, clarifying that his advocacy is not for eliminating green card restrictions entirely but for removing per-country caps that disproportionately affect applicants from countries like India. “Applicants from India have an 11-year wait, whereas applicants from other countries face no wait at all. Sriram supports a merit-based system, not an unlimited one,” Sacks explained.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk echoed Sacks’ sentiments with a brief endorsement, tweeting, “Makes sense.”
Loomer is trolling for attention. Ignore.

Vivek Ramaswamy, biotech entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate, also weighed in, citing cultural factors in the hiring practices of top tech companies.
The reason top tech companies often hire foreign-born & first-generation engineers over “native” Americans isn’t because of an innate American IQ deficit (a lazy & wrong explanation). A key part of it comes down to the c-word: culture. Tough questions demand tough answers & if…

The H-1B Visa Debate
The H-1B visa programme allows US companies to hire skilled foreign workers in specialised fields, such as technology, engineering, and medicine. In 2024, over 85,000 H-1B visas were approved from a pool of nearly 400,000 applicants. Major tech companies like Google, Amazon, and Tesla are among the top employers of H-1B visa holders.
Advocates for reform argue that the current system, which imposes a 7% per-country cap on green cards, disproportionately affects applicants from high-demand countries like India, leading to years-long backlogs. Proposals for a merit-based system aim to address these disparities while ensuring that the US remains competitive in attracting global talent.
Loomer’s Track Record of Controversy
Loomer, who has described herself as a “proud Islamophobe”, is no stranger to inflammatory rhetoric. She has previously faced backlash for racist comments, including remarks about Vice President-elect JD Vance’s wife Usha and disparaging statements about Kamala Harris during the 2020 presidential campaign.
In one instance, Loomer claimed the White House would “smell like curry” if Harris, whose mother was Indian, assumed office.
Her history of provocative statements has led some Republican figures, including Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Trump himself, to distance themselves from her.
Reactions to Loomer’s Comments
Loomer’s remarks have drawn sharp criticism from both political and tech leaders. Indian-American data architect Sidharth Ram denounced her statements as “rabid racism,” adding, “Anyone opposing high-skilled immigration is fundamentally anti-American. This nation was built by immigrants who drove innovation, from Albert Einstein to Sergey Brin.”

Ram also criticised anti-immigration groups, calling them “propaganda machines designed to weaken America’s competitive edge.”
Despite the backlash, Loomer defended her position, accusing the Trump administration of straying from its original policies. “It’s alarming to see career leftists being appointed to Trump’s administration when their views directly oppose his policies,” she wrote.
How long before we hear the tech bros say “I gave Trump X millions of dollars… so I matter more than you do.”
It’s only a matter of time.

They donated to Trump so they could try to influence immigration policy for…

The controversy surrounding Loomer’s comments is symptomatic of the deep divides in the US over immigration policy, particularly as it intersects with racial sensitivity, economic priorities, and political ideology.
