Recently, an X user shared a racist picture depicting Krishnan as butter chicken, a popular dish often associated with Indians. “Here is what Sriram Krishnan would look like if he was butter chicken,” the user wrote. One of the photos features Krishnan, while the other is likely an AI-generated picture that replaces his face with butter chicken.
Further, another user, Jason, an investor, reacted to the troll, writing, “These racist attacks are disgusting. Sriram Krishnan is awesome, for the record.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk also reacted to the post with a “Hundred Points” emoticon. As per the Emojipedia, this icon is used as shorthand for 100% and also used “to express pride or general acceptance of an idea.”

The racist post was met with widespread outrage, with many slamming the troll and expressing their disgust. An X user wrote, “Ironically, bone just reminded everyone how delicious Indian food is,” while another added, “Gross behaviour.” The third user reacted to the post, saying, “I would say it was just a joke, but it didn’t seem funny to me.” The fourth user said, “So distasteful.”
While many users claimed they didn’t find anything racist about the post and suggested Musk take it as a joke. A few voiced their concerns and alleged that Indians are taking away local job opportunities.
Replying to Elon Musk, a user wrote, “Don’t get into freaking “racism” Whatever somebody doesn’t like to hear he or she screams “racist” The topic is – we need to inspire domestic specialists & help our American children to shine! It should be the priority!”
“I think it’s kind of funny. Elon like you never in your life drew funny pictures of kids in your class and shared them with your friends,” another added.
