Jennie of Blackpink is gearing up to release her debut solo album in 2025!
In a holiday greetings video, the South Korean star did a recap of her year, and said she also wanted to “share a little bit of a sneak peek of my album coming out next year.”
“My album is going to sound very different,” she said. “My next single is going to sound very different from ‘Mantra’, I feel like every step is going to be different.”
She said it took her 11 months to prepare the album.
“I’ve never done this before, and people assume that this has been in my life. Which is kind of true, but I’ve never really done it on my own. I’ve always had the girls by my side,” she said, referring to her Blackpink members, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo.
Asked if there were featuring artists, she said, “Some of my dream artists.”
Jennie said she hopes that after her album, her fans would feel closer to her, but she also hopes “the world gets to see Jennie and her music as it is.”
“I think this year is gonna be the little seed in my life. A new era for me,” she said.
“It’s finally, finally time for me to show what I’ve been working on and what I’ve been holding onto,” she added.
Jennie’s last release was her solo single “Mantra” in October.
She signed with Columbia Records in early September through her record label and entertainment company, Odd Atelier. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
