Russia-Ukraine War: Zelenskyy says 2025 will determine the course of the conflict
In a significant address to lawmakers on November 19, Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that 2025 will be pivotal in deciding the outcome of the ongoing war with Russia. This statement came on the 1,000th day of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Zelenskyy presented a “resilience plan” during a parliamentary session, emphasising the need for unwavering determination as Ukraine approaches a critical juncture in the conflict. His remarks followed the US approval for Ukraine to utilise American missiles against Russian targets.

“This battle is not just about specific cities or regions; it is about the future of Ukraine and Europe as a whole,” Zelenskyy stated. He highlighted the intensified aerial assaults from Moscow, which has also received over 10,000 North Korean troops to bolster its military efforts.

Amid growing discussions of a potential peace deal following Donald Trump’s recent election, Zelenskyy expressed concerns over the implications for U.S. aid. He insisted that Ukraine’s future must be decided by its own people, stating, “No one should or can decide it for us.”

Zelenskyy suggested that Ukraine may need to endure until the end of Vladimir Putin’s rule to fully reclaim its internationally recognized territory. “Perhaps Ukraine will have to outlast someone in Moscow to achieve all its goals,” he concluded.

As the situation continues to evolve, the international community watches closely, especially regarding the dynamics of U.S. support and its potential impact on the conflict.
