AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said the CWC meeting will discuss an action plan and program for the Indian National Congress for the next year and adopt two resolutions. The meeting will deliberate on critical challenges facing the nation under the BJP rule.
“This will be a landmark program of Congress to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the great Mahatma Gandhi’s presidentship of Congress,” Venugopal added.
Giving details of the program, Venugopal said the CWC meeting will be called ‘Nav Satyagrah Baithak’. The CWC will be held at the same venue where Mahatma Gandhi took over presidentship of Congress.
Those who will attend the session include CWC members, permanent invitees, special invitees, PCCs, CLP leaders, and Parliamentary party office bearers and former chief ministers.
The meeting will start at 2:30 pm on December 26 in Mahatma Gandhi Nagar. On December 27, ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bheem, Jai Samvidhan’ rally will be held at 11:30 am with the participation of AICC members and party workers.
The 39th session of the Indian National Congress, held in Belagavi in 1924, was the only Congress session presided over by Mahatma Gandhi.
During the meeting, the party will analyse the current political situation, and the BJP government’s laws endorsing their ideology, and discuss what Congress’ ideology stands for, he added.
