Hussain, a global icon and one of the world’s most celebrated percussionists, passed away at the age of 73 in a San Francisco hospital after battling idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive lung disease. His funeral took place at the Fernwood Cemetery in San Francisco on Thursday (December 19), where hundreds of fans and admirers gathered to honour his legacy. Among the mourners, renowned percussionist Sivamani and other musicians performed as a tribute to the musical legend.

Hussain earned worldwide acclaim throughout his illustrious six-decade career, receiving four Grammy Awards, including three at the 66th Grammy Awards earlier this year.
