Touted to be a mass entertainer, Baby John is generating significant excitement ahead of its release.
The makers of the movie are planning to release Baby John across 3,000 screens in India on Christmas. However, the film is expected to face tough competition from Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2, which is still going strong at the box office even two weeks after its release.
To make space for itself, Baby John aims to sell at least 80,000 tickets in top national chains, which would translate to a decent opening of around Rs 15 crore on Day 1, according to reports.
Interestingly, advance bookings were briefly halted in top national chains such as PVR Inox over the issue of screen sharing. While bookings have resumed, a final decision is expected to be made over the weekend, according to Pinkvilla.
The holiday season from Christmas to New Year will be crucial for both films, as maximum footfalls could be witnessed at the cinemas during this period.
Directed by Kalees, Baby John is an adaptation of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film Theri. The movie follows the story of DCP Satya Verma, aka Baby John, who fakes his death to raise his daughter in a peaceful environment.
The film marks the return of Varun Dhawan as a lead character after two years. He last appeared in the 2022 film Bhediya.
With its release just around the corner, fans are excited to see Varun Dhawan in action. Going by the word-of-mouth, Baby John is expected to rake in good money. As per reports, the film’s runtime is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. It promises to be a perfect combo of entertainment, wild action, humour and foot-tapping tracks.
