Reflecting on his early days, Gupta said, “When I joined, Marico’s turnover was around ₹600 or 650 crore. Today, we are set to cross ₹10,000 crore this year.” Under his leadership, Marico has seen significant transformation, particularly in diversifying its portfolio over the past four years.

Looking ahead, Gupta said that Marico is keen on acquisitions in areas with high growth potential. “We will continue to acquire because this is a proven model for us.” The focus for Marico is not just on business expansion but also on investing in differentiated spaces.
Gupta places significant value on the founders of potential acquisitions, noting that the quality of founders is crucial for the long-term success of any partnership.

“We invest not just in the business but also in the founders, their ability to grow the organisation organically and sustainably,” he said. Gupta also emphasises that Marico’s aim is to help founders leave a lasting legacy, rather than just making quick profits.
