Bringing out the champion in every athlete

Bringing out the champion in every athlete

“Faster, higher, stronger” has always been the goal for athletes. In fact, the desire to better their abilities by overcoming the limits others have set for them cannot compare to the desire to surpass the limits they have set for themselves. When an athlete decides to pursue this journey of constant improvement, he becomes a hero and an inspiration to many.

Kids look to accomplished athletes as examples of the path they want to take. Getting involved in sports programs has given them an opportunity to not only develop themselves physically but also mentally. Strength and resilience become instilled in both muscle and mind. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men’s Basketball Finals was a battle that had all those qualities, and more, on display.

Glimpsing the awe felt by fans, supporters, and athletes while watching teams on the court, it was clear how the effect of sports heroes can motivate and energize the masses. The grit brought out by the discipline and responsibility from training, the passion brought out by the game they love, the resilience brought out by the losses and the wins from each season — these are qualities developed in each athlete that they can apply not only to sports but to every experience in life.

This is also the reason MILO continuously supports young and aspiring athletes, and has been doing so for the past 60 years. MILO is committed to bringing out the champion in every Filipino even for the next 60 years to come. Watching all those characteristics embodied in an athlete is truly inspiring and they have given the honor of the MILO Champion of the Season to outstanding NCAA athlete Clint Escamis, point guard of the Mapua Cardinals.

The Mapua Cardinals last won the NCAA Men’s Basketball championship in 1991 and managed to be only one game away from the crown last Season 99. This season’s team played a solid final game with Clint Escamis bringing the crowd to its feet on many occasions, truly the MILO Champions of the Season.

As the NCAA showcases the excellence exhibited by the different school’s sports teams, MILO’s support continues to inspire their champion journeys both on and off the court. The league continues to produce sports heroes who serve as role models for a younger generation where more and more kids find a sport to help them build strong bodies and personalities.

With a kid’s first successful shot in the basket, or first spike across the court, MILO is ready to support them as their new sports journey begins.
