In Delhi, the minimum temperature fell to 4.9°C, three points below the season’s average on Sunday (December 15). IMD predicts that the maximum temperature will hover around 23°C. Thursday (December 12) recorded the city’s lowest temperature at 4.5°C.

Rajasthan also documented low temperatures on Sunday (December 15). Fatehpur has seen sub-zero minimum temperature at minus 1.2°C for the third uninterrupted day.
Several areas experienced freezing temperatures, including Karauli at 1.9°C, Churu at 2.4°C, and Bhilwara at 2.6°C. Sirohi recorded 3.0°C, Chittorgarh 3.2°C, Pilani 4.0°C, Jaipur 4.5°C, and Sangaria 4.9°C, said the IMD. Other places saw the minimum temperature to settle below 10°C.
Cold weather persisted across Haryana and Punjab on Saturday (December 14), with Faridkot recording the region’s lowest temperature at 1°C, according to the meteorological department. Other locations in Punjab included Pathankot at 2.3°C, Gurdaspur at 2.8°C, and Bathinda at 3.4°C.
Amritsar also recorded 3.4°C, while Ludhiana and Patiala reported 7.8°C and 6°C, respectively. In Haryana, Karnal experienced a low of 4°C, with Hisar and Bhiwani close behind at 4.1°C. Narnaul faced a biting chill at 4.5°C, while Rohtak and Ambala registered 6.8°C and 7.5°C, respectively.
Chandigarh, the shared capital of both states, reported a minimum temperature of 6.6°C.
Dry weather has been predicted by the IMD till 21 December with warnings of cold weather and further temperature drop across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Rainfall has been predicted in the South in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar islands, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, under the influence of a Western Disturbance.
