Gen Alpha includes those born between 2010 and 2024. With over 2 billion people, it is considered the largest generation in human history.
The report states that Gen Alpha is expected to join the workforce at an earlier age as compared to past generations, largely due to the shift towards skills-based hiring and the rising prominence of certifications over degrees.

“They (Gen Alpha) will be part of a job market ruled by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation, which means adaptive skills and continuous learning will be key essentials for their success,” notes the report.
The report argues that Gen Alpha will bring major shifts in the 5.4 million-strong tech industry workforce, which is currently helmed by Baby Boomers and Generation X, due to their expected tech fluency.
“Gen Alpha would probably be the first true ‘AI natives’. This generation will push us to rethink what work means and how it is done,” says Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed.
Learning, unlearning and relearning will be the success mantra for Gen Alpha, who form about 20% of India’s population. The report states that companies are increasingly valuing continuous learning as a key skill while hiring candidates.
At least 50% of the future workforce is ready for the challenges that the tech-driven Industry 4.0 can pose. “This increased confidence is reflective of a conducive learning environment, which includes an increase in opportunities for online learning and greater industry-academia collaboration,” says the report.

‘AI fluency’ and continuous learning will be the two big skills for Gen Alpha workers, as per the annual report.
Moreover, abstract skills like communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and creativity will help the generation shape fulfilling careers.
“Workplaces are more than just technology. No matter how advanced AI gets, it cannot replace a meaningful conversation or the ability to navigate a tough team dynamic. It is this blend of digital fluency and human connection that will define their success in the workplace,” says Kumar.
