What’s new in the Metro Manila food scene this December?

Metro Manila’s restaurant scene is definitely on the upswing with an exciting array of vibrant local concepts opening shop, alongside popular international franchises.

This December, why not gather your friends and loved ones and explore these enticing new restaurants have recently opened? For good measure, we’re also including new locations of beloved eateries that will definitely make them a lot more accessible.

Whether you’re in the mood for something cozy or a bit more upscale, these dining spots offer not only delectable dishes and drinks but also the perfect ambiance for creating special moments together.  

1. Morton’s The Steakhouse
Location: Uptown Eastgate, Taguig

 

 

Morton’s The Steakhouse has made its grand entrance in the Philippines as it opened its first branch at Uptown Eastgate earlier this month.

The 200-seater restaurant serves the finest USDA-certified Prime Steaks, also known as the highest quality of beef in Morton’s specialty cuts, such as the Dry-Aged Bone-In Strip, Signature Cut New York Strip, 36oz Tomahawk, and Filet Mignon, among others.

2. Butcher Boy
Location: 106 HV Dela Costa cor. Soliman Sts., Salcedo Village, Makati

 

 

The Singaporean joint lands in Manila by way of an intimate corner space in Makati’s Salcedo village. Amid the low-lit space, Chef Andrew Walsh’s zesty Asian fare, like the Laksa Dumplings and the Fried Bun and Chili Crab Sauce, explode with flavor. Even the cocktails are quite the celebration. 

3. Tiong Bahru
Location: Verve Residences, BGC

 

 

Another beloved Singaporean concept comes to Manila! Tiong Bahru, the well-loved French bakery known for its delicious kouign amann has officially opened its first branch in the Philippines at the Verve Residences in Bonifacio Global City.

Founded in Singapore in 2012, Tiong Bahru is known for its flaky, buttery croissants, artisanal bread, rich coffee, and warm, welcoming vibe.

4. Cha Yi
Location: Lucky Chinatown, Manila

 

 

At the heart of the world’s oldest Chinatown lies Cha Yi, a newly opened tea house offering authentic Chinese tea.

Must-orders are Cha Yi’s specialty tea lattes, including Peach Harmony, Spring Jasmine, Autumn Osmanthus, Yunnan Pu’er, Wuyi Rock Tea, lemon tea, and a selection of cold brew tea.4.

5. Inari Sukiyaki
New branch: SM Aura Premier, BGC

 

 

From Quezon City, the Japanese sukiyaki bar has opened a new branch in SM Aura Premier to cater to Taguigeños who love their meats, specifically beef.

The sukiyaki bar offers premium beef, such as USDA Angus Karabi, USDA Angus Misuji, and USDA Angus Rib-eye, among others, as well as well-loved Japanese dishes Ebi Tempura and Spicy Tuna Roll.

6. The Wholesome Table
New branch: Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong

 

 

Known for promoting healthy food culture, BGC’s The Wholesome Table is expanding in Metro Manila as it opened its newest branch at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong.

To celebrate the milestone of a new branch, The Wholesome Table brings back the classics to the menu, including Truffle Burger, Paella Mariscos, Orzo Salad, Buddha Bowl, and Pan-seared duck.

7. Shanghai Saloon
New branch: The Montane, Taguig

 

 

No need to drive all the way to Alabang to enjoy Shanghai Saloon‘s popular unli dim sum offer.
