Waaree Energies awarded 170 MW solar power plant project in Madhya Pradesh

Solar panel maker Waaree Energies Ltd on Wednesday (December 11) said its wholly owned subsidiary, Waaree Forever Energies Private Ltd, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for the development of a 170 MW solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL).

“This is to inform you that Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company has today received a Letter of Award (LoA) for the development of a 170 MW Solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh, from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL),” Waaree Energies said in a regulatory filing.

The plant will be integrated into the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), enabling the generation and transmission of clean energy. The renewable energy produced will be supplied to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd and Indian Railways.

“The Solar power plant will enable the generation and transmission of clean energy via the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). The project will supply renewable energy to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd and Indian Railways thus contributing significantly to India’s renewable energy goals,” it said.

Shares of Waaree Energies Ltd ended at ₹3,174.05, up by ₹37.55, or 1.20% on the BSE.
