Manuel Baldemor’s paintings to be exhibited in Makati

The works of Filipino painter Manuel Baldemor will be featured in an upcoming exhibit at the Alliance Francaise de Manille Gallery in Makati City.

Titled “Somewhere in France,” the exhibit will showcase extensive artistic explorations in the European country.

It will be available starting December 12 and will run until January 25. Admission is free.

“‘Somewhere in France’ highlights the artist’s technical mastery and his dedication to bridging cultures and fostering understanding between the Philippines and the world,” Alliance Francaise de Manille said in a statement.

“The exhibition highlights his enduring connection to France, drawing inspiration from its landscapes, people, and culture.”

Many of Baldemor’s artworks have been reproduced on United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) cards for the past 18 years.

He won the grand prize at Art Association of the Philippines Art Competition and Exhibition for his “Paete I, Tahanan” mural in 1972, and again with pen and ink mural “Paete II” in 1973.

His artwork “Pasasalamat” is also a permanent attraction at the the hall of the United Nations Center in Vienna, Austria. Another of his works, “Philippine Skyworld,” can be found at the United Nations Building in New York City, USA.
