The teaser trailer of the Rashmika Mandanna-starrer, The Girlfriend, was released on Monday (December 9) by the actress on Instagram.
Fresh from the release and success of Pushpa 2, the teaser shows Mandanna’s character, a college-going student, struggling in her relationship with the character played by Deekshith Shetty. No further details are revealed, leaving viewers guessing.
Mandanna wrote, “Finally baby project is all set to meet you guys.. I know we’ve made you wait for a long long time.. but here it’s finally coming out!”
The trailer was also posted by actor Vijay Deverakonda on X. He did the voiceover for the trailer. “I love every visual of this teaser. I am so excited to see this drama unfold. She has been a lucky charm for so many of us actors, being part of our biggest successes. Growing fiercely as an actor, a performer and a star but all the while still remaining the same girl as a person, the same girl i met on sets 8 years ago,” he wrote.

Deverakonda also praised Rahul Ravindran for a “great story that will move every audience.”
The movie has Rashmika Mandanna and Deekshith Shetty as the lead actors and is directed by Rahul Ravindran. It will be released across India in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The Girlfriend is produced by Dheeraj Mogillineni and Vidya Koppineedi.
