Does Christian Bautista get offended whenever people ask him and his wife, Kat Ramnani, when they will have a baby?
On Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the Asia’s Romantic Balladeer said that they do not get offended with this question.
“We don’t take that as an offense kasi parang tradisyon na ‘yan ng Pilipino. Ang lagi ko na lang sinasabi, ‘I have a cat, I have a dog. Check niyo ‘yung Instagram namin,’” he explained
When asked if he believes that a marriage could last even without children, Christian answered that the most important thing in a union is putting each other’s partner first.
“Ang pinaka-importante yata sa isang marriage ay isa’t-isa muna. ‘Yung partner mo muna first before ‘yung pressure na magkaroon ng isang anak,” he said.
“Kasi mayroong mga ibang write-ups o interview din na ‘yung iba sinasabi focus on the anak, mayroon naman sinasabi focus on the marriage, so ‘yung anak makikita ang very, very good example ng isang partnership and admire you more. So, depende na lang kung saan sila pupunta.”
According to the “The Clash” judge, the question is similar to asking who to save between a pregnant mother and her baby if you only have one choice.
“It’s an impossible choice. Pero only that moment, only your faith in God and your trust and faith will give you that answer,” he shared.
Christian and Kat tied the knot in Bali in November 2018. It was followed by an elegant Manila reception a month later.
Christian is one of the judges of GMA Network’s singing competition, “The Clash.” He celebrated his 20th year in the industry in 2023 with a concert named after his top hit, “The Way You Look at Me.”
“The Clash” airs every Saturday at 7:15 p.m. on GMA.
