Pushpa 2 box office collection day 2: Allu Arjun’s film ₹400 crore worldwide

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule witnessed a historic start at the box office and continued its glorious run on the second day in India.

Early estimates suggest that the Sukumar directorial has already surpassed the ₹400 crore mark at the worldwide box office, with ₹265 crore coming from the domestic market itself.

The film, which hit screens worldwide on Thursday (December 5), collected ₹90.1 on the second day of its release on Friday, December 6, according to sacnilk.com.

As a pan-India release, Pushpa 2: The Rule was released worldwide in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Bengali. It is also being screened in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and 4DX formats.

Interestingly, the Hindi version of the film remained the standout performer on the second day, minting roughly ₹55 crore, followed by the Telugu version at ₹27.1 crore.

The Tamil version collected ₹5.5 crore, Malayalam stood at ₹1.9 crore and Kannada at ₹60 lakhs.

Pushpa 2: The Rule saw an overall Telugu occupancy of 53% on Friday, while its Hindi occupancy stood at 51.65%. The Tamil version remained at 38.52%, Kannada at 35.97% and Malayalam at 27.30%.

On its opening day (December 5), the film made a roaring start in theatres and earned a total of ₹175.1 crore. Out of this, the maximum collection came in from its Telugu version, which grossed ₹95.1 crore. It was followed by Hindi with ₹67 crore, Tamil with ₹7 crore, Malayalam with ₹5 crore, and Kannada with ₹1 crore.

Riding high on the success of the film — 2021 action drama Pushpa: The Rise — the second film features Allu Arjun reprising his National Award-winning role of Pushpa Raj, which fuelled big anticipation among the fans. Besides him, it sees Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil returning as Srivalli and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.

Also, the film features Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil and Anasuya Bharadwaj among others.

Given an extended four-day weekend and no major release expected to release in the coming week, Pushpa 2: The Rule shall continue to reign at the box office.

Mythri Movie Makers, the production banner behind both instalments, is believed to have spent around ₹400-500 crore on the second film.
