IND vs AUS Day-Night Test: Mohammed Siraj denies Travis Head’s ‘well bowled’ comment

Mohammed Siraj has denied that Travis Head said ‘well bowled’ to him after he had ended the Aussie batter’s innings on the second day of the Day-Night Test happening at the Adelaide Oval.

Speaking to Star Sports, the broadcasters of the Australia-India Test series in India,  ahead of the third day’s play Siraj said: “After bowling him out, I celebrated. Then he abused me. You can see it on TV as well. In the start, it was my celebration, I didn’t say anything to him. In the press conference, he said the wrong thing. He lied. Noway he said well-bowled. We respect everyone. I always respect everyone because cricket is a gentleman’s game. Travis Head’s actions were wrong. I did not feel good”.

Siraj gave Head an aggressive send off after his yorker clean-bowled the left-handed batsman. Before losing his wicket, Head had scored a breathtaking hundred and walked back after scoring 140 off 141 balls. Head’s hundred out  Australia in the driver’s seat to level the series.

When the Aussie was asked about what transpired between him and Siraj at the end of second day’s play, Head said: “I actually jokingly said ‘well bowled’ and then he pointed me in (to go to) the shades. I had my reaction as well but I would not like to give (it) too much airtime,”

Following Siraj’s send-off he was booed by the Adelaide Oval crowd.

“I think they booed him after the reaction. Do you want to raise the crowd up? You’ll get the crowd.” The left-hander said he had spoken to some “individuals” regarding the confrontation but did not give any details.” Head had told the media.
