Honda Amaze 2024 launched: Check new features compared to its old version

Honda recently launched the all-new Amaze 2024 in the Indian market with a starting price of ₹8 lakh. The new-generation Honda Amaze showcases a significant transformation in terms of design, interior and features. The new variant also adopts a fresh look inspired by the City and Elevate models.

Though the new Amaze boasts a modernised exterior and interior, its mechanical specifications remain unchanged. Let’s have a look at the features of the latest Amaze as compared to its older iteration.

Exterior

The 2024 Honda Amaze boasts a refreshed exterior design, departing from its conservative predecessor. Inspired by the City and Elevate, the latest Amaze features a more coherent and cleaner appearance. The front fascia has been revamped, with a larger grille, sleeker headlamps and reduced chrome usage. The face is also more upright than the older Amaze.

The new Amaze also features LED DRLs with a prominent eyebrow pattern, a thicker chrome stripe on the bonnet and new 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. The side profile remains largely similar to the previous model. The rear end has been updated with wider tail lights featuring distinct designs, while the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned to give the car a sportier look.

Interior

The interior of the new Honda Amaze also sees a complete overhaul, drawing inspiration from the Elevate. It not only looks sleek and upmarket but also boasts the latest technology. The new cabin features a minimalist approach, characterized by slimmer air-conditioning controls, a floating infotainment system and a new steering wheel borrowed from the City.

Dimensions

The 2024 Honda Amaze retains its sub-four-metre sedan status, with a length of 3,995 mm. However, the dimensions have undergone some subtle changes. The width has increased to 1,733 mm, up from 1,695 mm, while the height has marginally decreased to 1,500 mm, down from 1,501 mm. The wheelbase remains unchanged, but the boot space has been slightly reduced to 416 litres from 420 litres.

Features and Safety

The new Honda Amaze boasts a range of exciting updates, including a more advanced infotainment system and enhanced safety features. As compared to the old 7-inch infotainment system, the car now comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It also offers a wireless phone charger and new USB Type-C charging ports. Other retained features include auto headlamps, an engine start/stop switch, paddle shifters, cruise control, and powered ORVMs with an auto-fold function.

Safety has also been significantly enhanced, with the new Amaze offering six airbags, brake assist, an electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, a rear-view camera with parking sensors and others.

However, the most notable feature is the introduction of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with adaptive cruise control, lead car departure notification, a collision mitigation braking system and more, which were not available with the old version. This makes the new Amaze not only the first-in-segment but also the most affordable car to offer ADAS.

Engine specifications

The 2024 Amaze continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 90 PS and 110 Nm. Additionally, it now features an updated fuel injection ECU along with a tweaked manual gearbox. The transmission options remain the same, with a 5-speed manual gearbox and CVT automatic transmission available.

In terms of mileage, the company claims that the new Amaze returns a fuel economy of 18.65 kmpl (MT) and 19.46 kmpl (CVT). These figures represent a marginal improvement over the previous model’s fuel efficiency ratings, which stood at 18.6 kmpl (MT) and 18.3 kmpl (CVT).

Overall, the new Honda Amaze offers a modern design, an upmarket interior, advanced features and safety compared to its predecessor.
