She’s working late because it’s Christmas!
Sabrina Carpenter released her 50-minute Christmas special, “A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter,” on Netflix on Saturday morning.
The popstar opened the special with a performance of “buy me presents” from her 2023 Christmas EP “fruitcake”, followed by her own “nonsense” rendition of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”.
“They gave me a special. They said it would test well, as if I had fear. It’s the most nonsense time of the year… They told me I had an unlimited budget as long as I go viral, so I’m gonna break the set just to do it,” she joked in the song.
She went on to sing other songs from her fruitcake EP, such as “santa doesn’t know you like i do” and “cindy lou who.”
In between comedic Christmas-themed skits and personal stories, Carpenter performed covers with celebrity guests Tyla, Shania Twain, Kali Uchis and Chappell Roan.
The “Espresso” hitmaker ended the special with a performance of the special’s titular song “A Nonsense Christmas”, with a new outro about how she was able to keep the special “family friend-ling.”
Carpenter is well-known for creating customized outros for every single performance of her 2023 hit “Nonsense,” which was treated as a running gag throughout the entire special.
“The Christmas spirit is so infectious. This has been such a dream. Thank you to all my guests for being a part of it… Merry Christmas, and to all, a good night. Love, Sabrina Claus,” Sabrina said.
Sabrina Carpenter is currently nominated for six categories at the Grammy awards.
Her summer hit “Espresso” was recently named the most streamed song of the year by Spotify.
Carpenter is well-known for her recent hits “Taste”, “Espresso” and “Please, Please, Please” from her recent album “Short N’ Sweet.”
