GPT Healthcare signs MoU for construction, finishing of a hospital building at Jamshedpur

GPT Healthcare Ltd on Thursday (December 5) said it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Letter of Intent (LoI) with Naveen Singh and other lessors to construct and finish a high-class hospital building in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The facility will be leased to the company on a long-term basis.

GPT Healthcare operates and manages mid-sized multi-specialty hospitals under the ILS Hospitals brand.

“…we wish to inform you that the Company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) /Letter of Intent (LOI) for construction and Finishing of a State-of-Art High-Class Hospital Building at Jamshedpur to be let out on Lease with Naveen Singh & Others (For Self & On Behalf of other Lessors),” GPT Healthcare said in a regulatory filing.

The agreement involves multiple parties, including Naveen Singh, Ankur Singh, Shruti Singh, Vinayak Singh, Akshat Singh, Avinash Gaurav, and Kavita Singh. The hospital building will feature state-of-the-art amenities and services.

The company clarified in a regulatory filing that the agreement is with a third party, ensuring no conflict of interest or involvement of nominees on its board of directors.

Founded by Dwarika Prasad Tantia, Dr Om Tantia, and Shree Gopal Tantia, GPT Healthcare has gone from owning an eight-bed-hospital in Kolkata in the year 2000 to four full-service multispecialty centres, branded as ILS Hospitals, with a total capacity of 561 beds.

Shares of GPT Healthcare Ltd ended at ₹186.40, up by ₹2.10, or 1.14% on the BSE.
