Iya Villania gets real about working out while pregnant and ‘feeling like a whale ‘

Iya Villania is committed to her fitness routine, pregnant or not.

On Instagram Tuesday, the Kapuso broadcaster posted a reel of herself working out and got real about the difficulties of working out while at the stage of pregnancy where she’s “feeling like a whale.”

“With this growing belly, A5’s hardening bones, inevitable weight gain, rubbing thighs (not that I ever had a thigh gap… the struggle is getting so real,” Iya said.

“This is me at the moment feeling like a whale having to roll from one side to another with some good days at the gym but mostly lazy days to get moving,” she added.

According to the soon-to-be mom of five, her workouts these days are less intense than her usual, after their were tailored fit to her pregnancy.

“This is already me slowing down,” Iya said.

She will give herself total rest and recovery after delivering her 5th baby, Iya said, but for now, she’s working hard to stay strong.

“While I can and while it is still beneficial for myself, the baby, and my family, I will keep moving,” Iya said.

“Cheers to everyone who’s trying to stay fit, healthy, and strong for themselves and for the people they love,” she added.

In a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” episode in November, Iya said being fit and healthy is her way of being present for her family.

“Malaking bagay that I’m healthy and fit, because then I’m able for my family,” she told the King of Talk back then.

“Mas may pasensya ka, mas may endurance ka, masasamahan mo sila sa mga trip nila,” Iya added.

Iya and Drew Arellano, who have been married since 2014, announced they were expecting their fifth child – a surprise pregnancy they didn’t plan.

In November, they revealed that they are expecting another baby girl.

Iya and Drew presently have four kids: Primo, Leon, Alana, and Astro.
