Breckin Meyer and Kelly Rizzo are officially a couple.
On Sunday, the Franklin & Bash actor, 49, and the influencer, 44, who was married to Bob Saget until his death in 2022, made their public debut at a charity event for Janie’s Fund, Steven Tyler’s initiative for victims of abuse.
Rizzo told E! that she wasn’t comfortable pursuing a new relationship for a long period after the Full House comedian’s death. “It took a while… to get to the point where I’m like, ‘OK, I think he’d be happy with it,’” she said.
Rizzo also told the outlet that the new relationship has the blessing of Saget’s three adult daughters. “It’s wonderful, it just meant so much to have their blessing,” she said. “They’re just angels. And to have them support is so meaningful.”
Saget, who died on Jan. 9, 2022, at age 65 after suffering head trauma in a hotel room, still remains a massive presence in Rizzo’s life. “I just love talking about him all the time and working with his foundation,” she said. “He’s never going anywhere.”
“Just, I mean, every day — it’s not even every year — it’s just every day, he’s just still such a big part of my life,” Rizzo told PEOPLE. “And I love being close to his girls and his daughters. And just honoring him with just little things that I do all day every day.”
Rizzo paid tribute to her late husband on Instagram last month on the second anniversary of his death. “I’m still blown away by the fact that Bob hasn’t faded from all of your hearts in the slightest. It means so very much,” she wrote. “Thank you for allowing me to still share Bob and thank you all for continuing to keep his memory alive.”
