If you’ve been to In-N-Out recently, you may have noticed a new wrapper holding your burger. Normally, the wrapper says something like “Double-Double,” but the fast food chain has rolled out a new wrapper design to commemorate its 75th anniversary, which was celebrated in October.
Some of the new wrappers have license plate designs with the names Esther and Harry Snyder, who were the founders of In-N-Out. However, they also have the words “Rich” and “Guy.” When seen together on the wrapper it looks odd.
Is the company saying that Harry Snyder was a rich guy? Only true In-N-Out stans might know the real answer.

It turns out that those are the names of the Snyders’ first two children. Their firstborn, Rich Snyder, became president of the company in 1976 and ran the company until he died in a plane crash in 1993. Guy Snyder took over after his brother’s death and was president until 1999, when he died from a prescription drug overdose.
The company is now run by Lynsi Snyder, the daughter of Guy. She is known for remaining reclusive and shying away from giving media interviews — even though she’s one of America’s youngest female billionaires. In 2023, after years of elusiveness, Snyder published a memoir about how California’s first drive-thru restaurant gained cult status for burger lovers.
