The release of Siddharth Anand‘s much-awaited film ‘Fighter’, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, has come to the end of its first week at the box office, and going by the numbers, the film has seemingly fallen short of expectations.
Despite the director’s previous successes with ‘War’ and the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan‘, ‘Fighter’ began its box office run on a rather slow start. The movie made an estimated Rs 22 crore on Day 1 and saw a small incline in collections over the weekend. However, on Monday, the film saw a considerable drop in numbers and didn’t seem to pick up pace on Tuesday.
The box office performance of ‘Fighter’, prompted audiences to draw comparisons between the film’s collections and the director Anand’s previous works, particularly the record-breaking ‘Pathaan’. ‘Fighter’ has been lagging behind by a significant margin, falling short by 60-65%.
The film, which boasts of a total collection of Rs 134.25 crore, is expected to round off its first week at the box office with an estimated Rs 140+ crore.
