The government has given the green light to a proposal aimed at transforming coal into gas, according to CNBC Awaaz report. Financial incentives will be made available to encourage the process of coal gasification, with the government pledging capital support for the establishment of necessary plants and machinery, the report said.
This initiative has already garnered interest from several private companies, including Adani Enterprises and Deepak Fertilizer.
PSU projects will get capital support of ₹1,350 crore per plant.
Apart from this, private companies will get capital support of ₹1,000 crore.
