CLEVELAND, Ohio — Vivek Ramaswamy, the biotech businessman from Ohio tagged as a troll for Trump, suspended his primary campaign Monday after finishing a far-back fourth in the Iowa caucus. Vivek was then quickly named as a candidate to be on the Trump ticket running for the presidency and away from the penitentiary.
Upon suspending his primary bid, Ramaswamy immediately endorsed Trump sounding like his running mate, saying Trump:
“Will have my full endorsement for the presidency and I think we’re going to do the right thing for this country. And so I’m going to ask you to follow me in taking our America First movement to the next level.”
When asked about being Vice President, wannabe V.P. Vivek replied:
“I’m not somebody who’s going to be able to speak anyone’s convictions but my own. So if that’s a role that I can perform from the vice presidency or any other one, I’m going to evaluate whatever is best for the future of this country. But my No. 1 commitment is to truth.”
Truth is Trump’s troll from the buckeye state, viewed as both bold and obnoxious, was also long seen as really running in the primary for a seat in the next Trump cabinet. Presidential cabinet, not Mar-a-Lago cabinet or min. security federal pen. cabinet.
The same week Vivek was named as a Trump V.P. candidate, so were Rep. Elise Stefanik and now Sen. Tim Scott. Scott just endorsed Trump despite Haley having named Scott to his Senate seat when she was Governor of South Carolina.
Trump: Haley Not Presidential or Vice President Timber.
While Haley had been named as possible Trump running mate, he discounted that this week.
“She is not presidential timber. When I say that, that probably means she’s not going to be chosen as the vice president.”
“I can’t say, ‘She’s not of the timber to be a vice president’, and then say, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to announce…”
Sen. J.D. Vance, also from Ohio, had also already been named as potential Trump running mate, with Trump having endorsed Vance in the crowded Republican primary for retiring Sen. Rob Portman’s seat.
Vivek Ramaswamy, like Haley is the offspring of Indian immigrants. He is just 38 and is a graduate of both Harvard and Yale Law School, with an honorary degree from Trump University.
