Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh‘s BOTTER is where your imagination can run wild. The duo’s “Caribbean Couture” daydream keeps playfulness at the forefront, opening the second day of Paris Fashion Week with a mixture of grunge tailoring and deconstructed patchwork.
BOTTER’s Fall/Winter 2024 “DARK WATERS” collection is a fusion of cultures, representing its founders’ international heritage through music, fashion, and art. BOTTER steps into the real world by delivering contemporary wardrobes to be worn on the daily. Solemn piano symphonies opened the show shielded from Paris’ thundering skies, unveiling a mirage of distressed tailoring grounded in elevated craftsmanship.
Collarless blazers and pleated trousers merged into the first look, creating a single piece inspired by mechanic uniforms. Pre-dirtied cuffs popped from doubled shirting and silk-clad neckties, while 19th-century needle techniques pinned patterned fabrics together across fringed outerwear destroyed to perfection. Shredded polos and faded sweatpants followed, the latter donning distorted “HELL” lettering and reimagined Shell logos. The collection is submerged in a sea of flushed hues, reflecting the “DARK WATERS” theme with bespoke graphics by Gaétan Gris. Models clutched to bike saddle bags and bulbed belts on the runway, reinventing traditional cycling while looking to football with monstrous cleats destined for the pitch.
BOTTER revealed its next Reebok collaboration on the runway, debuting low-top footwear with flapped tongues taken from Wales Bonner‘s trending adidas partnership. Puffed rugby tops and dual-toned puffers conquered the range, complete with punctured caps and enlarged duffle bags in BOTTER’s signature blue.
