A Mexican chain new to the Harrisburg region is opening in Dauphin County.
Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant is replacing the Your Place Restaurant & Sports Pub at 2270 Kohn Road in Susquehanna Township.
An employee at Plaza Azteca at 5500 Carlisle Pike in Hampden Township confirmed the restaurants is opening, while a Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board placard posted at the restaurant lists Plaza Azteca. A timeline for an opening has not been announced.
The chain operates about 50 casual, sit-down restaurants in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Connecticut, West Virginia, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
It advertises “Your Shortcut to Mexico,” according to its website. Its lengthy menu of “authentic Mexican food” includes tacos, empanadas, burritos and fresh-made guacamole as well as margaritas. The website also lists vegetarian and vegan dishes including tacos.
Plaza Azteca in Hampden Township opened last year at a former TGI Friday’s.
The Your Place closed in September and joins several other locations that have closed, including one in Derry Township.
