The Florida State Seminoles will be without their planned starting quarterback in the Orange Bowl. Per a report from Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Tate Rodemaker plans to enter the transfer portal and skip the upcoming matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Rodemaker took over the starting position after the season ending injury to quarterback Jordan Travis. He led the Seminoles to wins over Northern Alabama and the Florida Gators before suffering a head injury late in the win over UF. True freshman Brock Glenn filled in and led the Seminoles to a win over the Louisville Cardinals and a conference championship in the ACC title game. Rodemaker finished the season with 510 passing yards and five touchdowns.
The Seminoles will now head into the Orange Bowl with just one scholarship quarterback on the roster with Travis out for the season and both AJ Duffy and Tate Rodemaker transferring away from the team.
