‘We couldn’t be more grateful!’

Jessa Duggar has received a special delivery!

The former reality star, 31, who announced her pregnancy in September, announced the birth of her fifth child Saturday on Instagram.

‘Baby is here and we couldn’t be more grateful!’ she wrote, sharing a snap of herself and the swaddled newborn in their hospital bed.

She shared a link to her birth story on YouTube.

The Just Counting veteran shares children Fern, Ivy, Spurgeon and Henry with her husband Ben Seewald, 28. The couple have been married since 2014.

In the 10-minute YouTube video, Jessa spoke to the camera, revealing, ‘Today is Monday, December 18, I woke up about 6 am and I felt my first contraction where I was like, “this feels like a real contraction, like a labor contraction.’

The night before, she had said she was feeling what she thought were Braxton Hicks or false labor contractions during much of the day. 

On Monday morning, she timed the contractions about being about 15 minutes apart and decided to get ‘proactive, finishing packing the birth bag, throwing last minute items in there.’ She also unboxed the new car seat for the baby.

To keep her labor moving along, the seasoned mom did lunges up the stairs of the newly renovated home she shares with her family in Arkansas.

She told Ben, who was taping her movements, that the contractions were about five minutes apart at the time, but they had slowed down and she wanted to ‘make sure they keep up.’

Jessa also had to deal with ‘nerve pain in my leg.’

The couple arrived at the hospital just before 4:30 pm and after being checked over, she was admitted.

Jessa opted for an epidural to help deal with the pain, but told her fans it was ‘great on one side and sort of spotty on the other side,’ and while not perfect, the pain relief made the experience ’80-percent better.’ 

The doctor later told her the baby was not in a good position for birth, so with help of her midwife, Jessa got into ‘a bunch of different laboring positions to help rotate the baby.’

Jessa’s mom, Michelle, was by her side during this difficult time. 

The epidural had been discontinued so the laboring mom could change her position and Jessa admitted, she was ‘not mentally prepared’ for the return of the pain during the three to four hours it took to get the fetus into position. 

Once that was accomplished she was able to have the pain relief readministered about 2:30 in the morning on December 19 and about 15 minutes later her water broke. 

Things went quite quickly, and after only three pushes the little one arrived and was placed in his weeping mother’s arms. 

‘It was the sweetest moment when they raised the baby up and put him on me and just holding him there, I think there were just so many emotions in that moment,’ she said.

‘It’s been a year since we lost our last baby… and it was just a flood of emotions getting to welcome our little baby into this world.’

Daddy Ben carried the newborn to the scale where he was weighed at a whopping nine pounds, 14 ounces.    

The couple have not revealed the baby’s name yet, but teased more details to come in the next YouTube video.
