Why Disney Needs To Make A Disney Animated-Style MCU Cartoon
Marvel Studios Is Already Diving Into Animation
While Marvel Studios only developed movies during the MCU’s Infinity Saga, the creation of Disney+ has allowed the studio to play around with different mediums. Through Marvel’s What If…?, I Am Groot, and other announced animated projects, the studio is showing that animation will be a growing part of the franchise. To really propel the MCU forward, it would be exciting to bring Marvel’s premiere franchise, the Avengers, into the animated medium with the team getting its own series.
As shown in the fan art, a Disney-style MCU cartoon for the Avengers would be a great way to push the franchise in a new direction. Only half of the original Avengers remains active in the MCU, and even the remaining Thor, Hulk, and Hawkeye all have replacements set up in case the Avengers actors decide to retire from the MCU in the future. Through an animated series dedicated to the original Avengers, the MCU could either feature the return of the team’s cast or recast the roles with new voices and keep Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, and the others active in a corner of the MCU.
Now, a specifically Disney-styled animated series for the Avengers would be the best choice for a key reason. One of the MCU’s biggest Avengers complaints is that the movies barely gave time to the day-to-day interactions among the team. The classic Disney animation style would lend itself perfectly to a slice of life Avengers animated series that focuses more on the quiet moments shared between the heroes — such as the Avengers Tower party in Avengers: Age of Ultron — than the usual MCU Avengers action.
