NASHVILLE—The Seahawks elevated cornerback Kelvin Joseph and safety Ty Okada from their practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Titans.
Joseph and Okada will bolster Seattle’s secondary depth with safety Jamal Adams ruled out due to a knee injury, and cornerbacks Devon Witherspoon (hip) and Tre Brown (heel) listed as questionable, though Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Friday he expects Brown should be OK for Sunday’s game.
The Seahawks will have safety Julian Love, who did not make the trip Friday with the team while awaiting the birth of his son, but is flying to Nashville Saturday to join the team following the arrival of the baby.
Joseph, a 2021 second-round pick who signed to Seattle’s practice squad last month, would be making his Seahawks debut if he is active Sunday. Prior to joining the Seahawks, Joseph appeared in 26 games with three starts for the Cowboys in 2021 and 2022, recording 36 tackles, four passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Joseph was traded to Miami before the start of this season, and appeared in four games, primarily on special teams, before being waived last month.
This is the third practice squad elevation for Okada, an undrafted rookie out of Montana State who also played in last week’s win over the Eagles, and in Seattle’s Week 11 game against the Rams, playing a total of 15 snaps on special teams between the two games.
