The Epic Games Store free mystery game promotion for the holiday is in full swing, giving away Fallout 3 on December 23 as its fifth title so far this year. Previously, the Epic Games Store has given out Destiny 2, DNF Duel, Melvor Idle, and Art of Rally.
As many longtime users know, Epic Games tends to give away two weeks or so worth of games every year for the holiday season. To do so, it foregoes its typical Thursday-to-Thursday release schedule and instead gives away a mystery game every day. It doesn’t confirm the next game, as it typically does, but it doesn’t abandon all of its patterns. Fans can still find these games, just every day, at 10 am CT on the Epic Games Store.

The latest game is Fallout 3, but not just the base game; it’s the Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition. It includes all Fallout 3 DLC packs: Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta. This means the Epic Games Store is giving fans a way to check out a post-apocalyptic Washington, D.C., but also Anchorage, Alaska; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Point Lookout State Park along the Chesapeake Bay, in Maryland; and outer space.

The wrapping paper for Fallout 3, in hindsight, had an atomic green coloring to it, but the wrapping paper for December 24 is covered in pink, purple, stars, and spaceship-styled ornaments. Perhaps it’ll be a sci-fi game, but fans will just have to wait and see.
