If you look up records and wins in the UTSA history books, quarterback Frank Harris will be at the top of almost every stat. However, when the Roadrunners take the field in their bowl game it could be without the man who’s got them this far.
Harris is questionable to play in the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl on Tuesday, December 19, against Marshall, according to posts on X from various reports.
Harris has been UTSA’s starting quarterback since 2020, when head coach Jeff Traylor joined the Roadrunners. In that time the Roadrunners have gone 38-14, winning back-to-back Conference USA championships in 2021 and 2022.

There was speculation that Harris, a seventh-year senior, would transfer to a big name school in the offseason. Yet Harris announced he would return to lead UTSA into the American Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners finished their first year in the new conference with an 8-4 record overall and 7-1 in conference play, coming one game short of advancing to a third-straight conference championship game.
In his final season with the UTSA Roadrunners, Harris ended the season with 2,506 yards and 18 touchdowns. Over his seven-year career with the Roadrunners, he finished with 11,862 yards, 92 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions.
UTSA has never won a bowl game. Now the Roadrunners might have to seek their first triumph without their record-setting quarterback.
