BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Terminal 1 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is being evacuated as of 6:42 p.m. Sunday. The airport is calling it a “developing security-related incident.”
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is on the scene. We are unclear what has happened, whether anyone is injured, or whether this may be one of many unattended bags that lead to problems for both travelers and the person who left the bag unattended.
Terminal 1 serves Southwest and United, as well as several low-cost carriers.
Authorities tell us that it’s the upper level of terminal 1 — which includes check-in, gates, and security. Check back for updates. If you are there, please share your tips and photos with BocaNewsNow.com through our 24-hour tip line. Call or text 561-866-NEWS. 561-866-6397.
